Our story

Why we created Raportify

Twelve years of travelling through hotels and guest houses led us to a single observation. When something is wrong, the customer knows first — and has no one to tell.

What the customer needs

A dripping tap, air conditioning that does not work, missing soap. The customer has one option: walk to reception and explain it to somebody. Most people will not do that — they are on holiday, they do not want an argument and they do not want to be the difficult one.

That leaves one route, and it is the worst one: a public review on Booking or Tripadvisor. After they have left, when nothing can be fixed any more, and in front of everybody else. The operator had no direct channel to hear about it in time.

How to make it simple

A QR code right there on the spot. The customer does not have to find anyone, talk to anyone or install anything — a photo, one sentence, done. Fifteen seconds.

That also removes a second barrier nobody talks about much: the game of telephone between reception and maintenance. Reception notes down that there is something wrong with the water in room 312, the maintenance man turns up and works out what anyone meant by that.

What we built

A report becomes a task. The system assigns it to a named person, keeps the photo, the description and the exact place with it, and its state is visible. When a detail needs clarifying, the question can go back to the customer.

A history builds up on top of that: what breaks most often and where, how long resolution takes, who met the deadline. That is what you plan the next spend from — on what actually happened, not on a hunch.

Getting back to the customer

That used to mean a phone call or meeting in person. With a foreign visitor it also ran into language — and the language barrier is why a lot of people never say anything at all.

So the conversation stays in the same channel the report came from, and in the customer's language.

Confirming it is resolved

When it is done, the customer finds out without having to ask. That is the moment that decides it: the difference between nobody caring and somebody actually fixing it.

A satisfied customer shares their positive experience with two people.

An unhappy one shares it with a great many more. That is exactly why it pays to catch a report before it turns into a review.
